Our favorite destinations for beer lovers
Estonia
Beer lovers have known about it for some time. Some of the world's best beers come from the Baltics. And where better to discover this than in Estonia, with the vibrant city of Tallin. Known for the annual beer festival and the Pohjala brewery. But there is much more!!!
The Netherlands
Our own country, of course. There are so many good breweries, small-scale festivals here and there is still so much to discover in the Netherlands. Walking or cycling, canoeing or boat trips and combine that with a visit to an idyllically located brewery.
Latvia
Combine the old center of the Hanseatic city of Riga with hipster cafes and breweries and explore the country with breweries such as Arpus and Labietis and you know, a fantastic trip!
Our favorite breweries
Puhaste brewery, Tartu, Estonia,We visited the Puhaste brewery in the pleasant student city of Tartu (don't miss their brewpub in the center) and received the warmest welcome. Of course a tour, but above all tasting fantastic beers in the most diverse styles and talking endlessly about beer and much more with the hospitable people of the brewery.
Labietis, one of the lesser known breweries from the Baltic States, but well worth a visit. They brew beers here according to traditional medieval recipes, so you will taste beers that you won't get anywhere else. Be sure to visit their brewpub in the hip part of Riga.
Arpus, Lavia
Perhaps our favorite beers, the smoothie sours and the IPAs from Arpus. Here experiments are being conducted at a brewery in the Latvian countryside. As the first group ever, we were given a tour and received a very friendly welcome and enjoyed fresh, not yet marketed, beers.
